The iPhone 8 Plus is a good option for a budget phone. It has an acceptable design by contemporary standards and is significantly cheaper than the next model up (the iPhone X). It’s also faster than the previous generations of iPhones. If you want the latest quality tech to create content, then this isn’t the model for you.
But if you’re looking for a less expensive second hand phone, with relatively modern features, the iPhone 8 Plus is good option. Be mindful of the fact that this model features a glass back, so if you want a cheap phone that’s more durable (say it might get beat up a bit at work) you might want to look at the 7 Plus or have a decent case for it. Note that this model doesn't have a traditional headphone jack. Rather it features a lightning port.
